" Pressure-point techniques have been a valuable tool throughout my career. I’ve successfully applied them across MMA, grappling, and wrestling competition to efficiently control and manipulate opponents, create positional advantages, and advance toward effective finishes. These applications are practical, reliable, and have translated directly to high-level competition. "

"I can recall a incident where a suspect didn't want to you get into the back seat of my police unit and I struck a spot behind his ear in which was a pressure point I learned from Harry that I decided to utilize and worked to perfection after the strike the suspect flew into the back seat so take this training to heart it does work. "

" As an attorney, I value practical skills that actually work under stress. Learning pressure point self-defense has given me a level of confidence I didn’t have before—not just for myself, but for protecting my family. What surprised me most is how little physical effort is required to make these techniques effective. After personally feeling the pressure points during training, there’s no doubt in my mind that they work. This system is efficient, realistic, and incredibly empowering."

"A few days ago while training with my sensei Harry Duhon.
He Demonstrated to me the effectiveness of pressure point manipulation on the body. He pressed a point on my arm that instantly immobilized that arm.
My max bench press ever is 505 pounds.
Even that did not withstand the effectiveness of that pressure point. It was a sharp pain. And I lost all motor function in that arm until he released.
It's something that anyone can use at any size. Even on a bigger stronger opponent.
I have used this similar area while making an arrest when I was a police officer.
The suspect was grabbing onto the push bar of the unit and would not give me his hands. I struck this pressure point and the suspect let go long enough to get his hands secured.
Pressure points work. And there is no lasting affect once the pressure point is released."

Yes-but only under specific conditions.
Your instructor Harry Duhon has used Pressure Points in many real fights as a bouncer. And in the course he shares the actual story of how he used the points.
Reality:
- Pressure points do not work like a light switch
They work best when:
- Applied under stress with correct angle and leverage
- Combined with movement, balance disruption, or pain compliance
- Used on momentarily exposed targets, not chased
- They are force multipliers, not magic techniques
Yes most of the time—but pain compliance alone is unreliable.
Reality:
Pain-based points may fail on:
- Highly adrenalized individuals
- Highly Intoxicated subjects
Combine Pressure Points with Structural and neurological responses that still work:
- Balance disruption
- Postural breaks
- Motor interference
- Reflexive reactions
Key distinction:
❌ Pain compliance only = unreliable
✅ Pain + structure + leverage = functional under stress
This is why modern law enforcement frameworks teach pressure points as assistive tools, not primary controls.
Pressure Points are another tool in your
self- defense tool box
Pressure points themselves are not illegal—how and why they’re used matters.
Reality:
Legality depends on:
- Context (self-defense vs. assault)
- Level of force used
- Intent and escalation
Some points are considered high-risk if misused:
- Neck
- Base of skull
- Carotid area
Best-practice:
Use pressure points for:
- Control
- Disengagement
- Creating opportunity to escape
Not for:
- Punishment
- Prolonged application
- Revenge or dominance
This aligns with reasonable force standards used in civilian self-defense and professional use-of-force models.
Bottom-Line
Pressure points are real
They are not magic
They must be integrated, not isolated
They work best when used briefly, tactically, and lawfully
